01

Los Angeles, 2005

In 2005, Kim was still outside the spotlight.

The person that was giving me the information on behalf of Paris Hilton was a young lady called Kim Kardashian.

Sheeraz Hasan, Hollywood Raw

In 2005, Kim Kardashian was close to fame but not yet its subject. She worked with Paris Hilton and saw how a photograph moved from a restaurant pavement into entertainment news around the world.

She also saw who knew where the cameras would be. Hollywood.TV, founded by Sheeraz Hasan, supplied celebrity footage to broadcasters that needed a new story every day. Kim learned the rhythm of that system from inside it.

Learning where the cameras were

Before she became the subject of the coverage, Kim saw the Hollywood.TV operation from behind the camera.

Kim learned how visibility was produced before she became the subject of it.

02

Kris Jenner's brief

Sheeraz and Kris began with a visibility calendar.

Around 2005, I had a meeting with Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian. I had designed a specific calendar: where to go, what to do, and what cameras are gonna be there.

Sheeraz Hasan, ABC News 20/20

Kim and Kris Jenner met Sheeraz with an unusually clear ambition: Kim wanted to become the most famous person in the world. Sheeraz answered with a working calendar, not a slogan.

The calendar mapped locations, appearances and camera presence. It turned a distant ambition into a sequence of decisions that could be repeated day after day.

A plan built around repetition

The visibility plan began with a calendar: where Kim would go, what she would do and which cameras would be there.

The visibility was scheduled and repeated; it was not left to chance.

Hollywood.TV

Hollywood.TV put Kim in celebrity news daily.

I'm gonna make the entire world sick of the word Kardashian.

Sheeraz Hasan, ABC News 20/20

There was no Instagram feed to update and no direct path to millions of followers. Recognition had to pass through photographers, camera crews, wire services and television producers.

Hollywood.TV gave Sheeraz control over that route. Kim could be placed where established names, cameras and editors already converged. Mr Chow shows the method in miniature: create enough attention outside the restaurant and the people inside begin asking who has arrived.

Channel 4

The cameras outside Mr Chow

At Mr Chow, attention outside the restaurant opened a commercial conversation inside it.

Public attention created leverage before the commercial partnership was discussed.

The work was cumulative. One sighting did not build a public figure. Repeated sightings trained the audience to recognise Kim before it was ever asked to buy from her.

04

Television

Recognition came before television.

When Keeping Up with the Kardashians began in 2007, the family entered television with recognition already in motion. Daily celebrity coverage became an ongoing story with its own cast, rhythm and audience.

The fairytale wedding shows the scale of that transition. A life event could now be produced as appointment television, discussed in the press and carried through another news cycle.

Channel 4

The audience was already watching

The fairytale wedding turned private life into an event that television audiences could follow at scale.

Recognition expanded from daily coverage into appointment television.

The same machinery also had to absorb moments nobody planned. When a protester threw flour at Kim on a red carpet, the incident happened in front of a dense press line and spread immediately. The episode shows what sustained visibility brings with it: attention does not arrive only when it is convenient.

05

Commercial proof

Kim turned recognition into commercial demand.

Recognition became valuable when it could move people toward something tangible. At Millions of Milkshakes, Kim stepped behind the counter and created a named product while the cameras captured the launch.

Kim turned an appearance into a product launch

A named milkshake gave the cameras a product, the press a visual and the venue a story that travelled well beyond West Hollywood.

Recognition could now move attention toward a product, a venue and a commercial story.

The event joined celebrity, retail and press in one frame. The venue gained coverage, Kim gained another public moment and the audience had a product it could order. The commercial logic that followed the Kardashian name for years was already visible at the counter.

Channel 4 traces the larger arc plainly: the fame came first, then the family's commercial power grew on top of it.

Middle East expansion

Sheeraz took Kim's audience into the Gulf.

By 2012, the work had moved beyond Los Angeles. Sheeraz developed appearances across Dubai, Kuwait and Bahrain, matching Kim's global recognition with a region ready to meet her in person.

From recognition to empire

The recognition came before the empire.

Everything you see of the Kardashian today has been planned.

Sheeraz Hasan, Channel 4

The platforms changed, but the underlying sequence did not. Build recognition through disciplined repetition. Turn that recognition into a reason for people to watch, visit or buy. Then carry the audience into new markets.

Kim's talent for holding attention and Kris Jenner's commercial instinct made the result far larger than any early calendar could promise. Sheeraz built the visibility infrastructure that helped the world learn the name.

Recognition takes longer than most people are willing to wait.

The Kim Kardashian story took years of rejection and repeated work. Sheeraz brings that long-view judgment to founders and public figures who cannot afford to confuse a slow result with a wrong strategy.
